This means that there are 107 more proposals to be drafted if all the districts are to be covered. The One District, One Factory project is one of the major promises made by President Akufo-Addo’s camp during the 2016 electioneering campaign.
Nana Addo made this pronunciation when he addressed a durbar of Chiefs and People of the Kpone Katamanso Traditional Area.
The durbar was held at the Kpone Methodist School Park as part of the President’s three-day tour of the Greater Accra Region. The President added that the motive of government in the 1D1F policy is to generate jobs for the youth.

The one factory one district policy was one of the new government’s flagship promises ahead of their massive victory in the December 2016 elections. Prior to the elections, President Nana Addo had promised to establish a factory in every district across the country.
This according to him was part of his plan to create jobs and reduce unemployment among the youth. The One District one Factory policy had been a subject of discussions on various media platforms with many critics questioning the possibility of its implementation.
But the NPP remained undeterred as they sought ways to bring the seemingly impossible plan to a reality.
In January 2017, the government said the policy implementation will be achieved in collaboration with private investors. A special organization government said, will be set up specifically for the policy implementation. But it seems the plan is getting closer to reality by the day.
