Bisa Kdei -Mansa crooner is one of Ghana’s favorite artists in the music industry.
Baba in Highlife and a sure shareholder in the Ghanaian music industry, Ronald Kwaku Dei Appiah, better known by his stage name Bisa Kdei is one artist whose intriguing ways draws his fans even closer. He is a hard worker and a sweetheart to his female fans.
BK has received numerous industry awards including the best Movie soundtrack of the year, both at the 2012 Ghana Movie Awards and the Kumasi Based Movie Awards. All are well deserving and befitting for a rare and exceptional talent like him.

We won’t let you wonder anymore on this one. Luckily, Bisa’s birth date is not much of a secret though only very few people know. The talented artist was born on the 19th of March 1986 and hails from Larteh, in the Eastern Region.
He is a graduate of Accra Technical Training College. Bisa is currently 31 years old and bears the ‘Pisces’ Zodiac sign. So in case you’ve been trying to do some match making, you can put this to use.
Unlike some who went into the biz for money; for Bisa, music was all about passion. The Highlife entertainer started singing at the age of 15. Bisa started his music career as a rapper in a group called BISA (Boys In Serious Action). He later decided to embark on a solo project when he found out he could do better in singing.
Bisa Kdei is the third son of eight children.
Bisa identifies himself as a Christian. One of his tracks, Give It To Baba emphasizes his love and respect for God; it is also a song calling on others to put God first in everything. Though he is a Christian, Bisa is also a respecter of other religions and faith.
He believes every religion has its own leader and with that, he loves and respects everyone regardless of Religion differences. On several media platforms, Bisa Kdei has stated – “I give it all to God because he is the reason I am here now”
Movie producer Afra Marley who spotted the talent in Bisa introduced him to his other colleague and that was how Bisa’s success story began.
Bisa Kdei lost his mother on August 19, 2015, inside Cocoa Clinic, to an unknown illness. If you recall, this was on the same day he released the official music video for his latest single, MANSA. Bisa since then has tried to find solace in his music and his other engagements.

Bisa was nominated in the 2013 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in the category, Best Hiplife Song of the Year and also, got himself four (4) nominations in the 2013 MTN 4syte Music Video Awards in the categories – Best Storyline Video, Best Hiplife Video, Best Highlife Video and Best Discovery Video.
Bisa Kdei got two nominations at the 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, in the categories, Best Highlife Song of the Year and Best Highlife Musician of the year. Bisa Kdei won the Best Singer at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards. He was also nominated at the 2015 African Entertainment Awards as Best Male International Act.
Bisa Kdei is the first Ghanaian artist to break into the limelight with a movie sound track. Bisa has done sound tracks for movie producers such as A. A Productions, Paul Gee, Miracle Films and Pat Thomas. But the talented artist was brought into the limelight through his sound track for the movie Azonto Ghost.
The track had got everyone talking and sniffing around to find out who the brain behind it was. After his Azonto Ghost song became a massive hit, Bisa released hit singles, Metanfo, Over, Madanfo and Love Letter before finally releasing his maiden Thanksgiving album that has 16 songs on it.
Bisa also faced a lot of embarrassment during media interviews at the time his Azonto Ghost song became popular. Many had thought the artist could not express himself in the English Language. This included radio and TV stations who swiftly change to Twi language whenever he was invited for interviews.
According to Bisa, after he uploaded some videos of interviews he had done in English on his Twitter and Facebook pages, many of his fans and friends began sending him positive messages with many of them congratulating him for being fluent in both English and Twi.
Like other artists, Bisa Kdei has had a fair share of false rumors and gossip which have gone viral over time. In 2016 it was allegedly reported that Bisa Kdei and female musician, Becca were in a secret relationship. However, the two musicians have all denied the claims.
Bisa Kdei’s verified Facebook account with over 574,000 followers as well as his Instagram account was hacked on October 29, 2015. Bisa posted on Twitter confirming the hack and that his media team was working to get it resolved.
