Arsene Wenger has played down rumours linking him with the Barcelona job.
The La Liga giants are on the lookout for a new boss after Luis Enrique confirmed he will leave the Nou Camp at the end of the season.
Wenger’s own future at the Emirates is in doubt, with his current deal due to expire in the summer.
The Frenchman is one of the bookies’ favourites for the Barca post, but he insists he remains committed to the Arsenal cause.
He said: “My preference has always been Arsenal but I am objective enough to make the right decision for myself and the club itself.
“The club can also make their decision if it wants and I will respect that. I am not looking for jobs of other clubs or jobs of other people.
“I am just focusing on getting to the next level and try to improve. Competent managers always try to get better, to reinvent themselves.”
Wenger turned down a huge £30million-a-year offer to move to China — DOUBLE what Pep Guardiola is on at Manchester City.
The Emirates chief was sounded out with an offer to make him the highest paid manager in world football.
He added: “I’ve been here 20 years and many times had opportunity to leave.”
