The SSE Arena Wembley was a sight to behold last night Saturday May 13 2017 as a top line of African acts came out to play.
Yes, it was a night of African music although not fairly represented since most artists on the bill were Nigerians. That notwithstanding, patrons had their monies worth.
However, something didn’t really go down well with some patrons due to the late start of the show. (Typical African issue, right?)
American recording artist and record producer Jidenna who had been billed to perform didn’t show up which led many asking what could have happened.
Well, Jidenna was present in London for the show and has explained what really caused him not to perform.
He applauded all the performers and patrons and also apologized for not being able to perform.
He would however not blame anyone but feels it is necessary Africans respected TIME!
Rubbish!!! You started the show late with lots of time wasting, now you are hurrying the show. This is shameful— Rosanwo (@rosanwo) May 13, 2017
Banky came on stage at 8:20pm to open the show, 1hr 20mins behind schedule.— Rosanwo (@rosanwo) May 13, 2017
Watch what Jidenna said.
I’m disappointed that London wasn’t able to see me 2night. Regardless of whose to blame, to make this our time we must be on time #OneAfrica— Jidenna (@Jidenna) May 14, 2017
Cheers to the artists and organizers of #OneAfrica! I was supposed to perform 2night but the show was cut off as I waited backstage. pic.twitter.com/wPlD0pE9Kf— Jidenna (@Jidenna) May 14, 2017
