Senegal’s star player Sadio Mane might have missed an important penalty against Cameroon leading to the Lions of Teranga being knocked out of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
Nevertheless, his importance to Premier League side Liverpool has been evident with the team organising a private jet to collect him from Gabon.
Liverpool wanted Mane back in England as soon as possible in the hope that he will be able to make the bench tomorrow night against Chelsea underlining his importance to the club, that has seen their form dwindle since the departure of the amazing striker.
The loss to Cameroon and penalty miss though a blessing in disguise for Liverpool, devastated Mane who wept uncontrollably afterwards, and needed support just to get to the locker room.
Sadly this came after a splendid performance that saw him score two goals in the tournament for Senegal.
This is not the first time Liverpool have made the gesture for one of their star players. For instance Luis Suarez boarded a private jet in 2013.
