Pescara manager Zdenek Zeman has criticized midfielder Sulley Muntari for reacting to racial chants on him during a League match against Cagliari on Sunday.
The Ghanaian international was shown a yellow card after complaining and reacting to racial comments from fans of Cagliari.
The former AC Milan star walked off the field after the unpleasant “verbal assaults” from the home fans.
Zeman in a rather shocking note has criticized his player for yelling back at the home fans and working off the field.
“Muntari left us down to 10 men, he left of his own volition when we could’ve still had our say in the final minutes.”
“He left the pitch because of racist chanting, but we shouldn’t react with such vigilante gestures.”
“You have to accept certain things and move on.”
The 32-year-old witnessed a similar incident during his time with AC Milan when countryman and former teammate Kevin-Prince Boateng was racially by lower League side Pro Patria.
