Hamburg have bolstered their ranks ahead of the second half of the season with the addition of defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos.
The 24-year-old joins the Bundesliga outfit on a six-month loan deal from Bayer Leverkusen.
Papadopoulos moved to RB Leipzig on a season-long loan in the summer, but made only one appearance for the title challengers before undergoing knee surgery in November, and has now cut his spell short to help relegation battlers Hamburg.
“We get a versatile defensive specialist with a huge fighting spirit,” HSV sporting director Jens Todt said on the club’s official website.
The Greece international added: “HSV are a big club. I hope I can help the club and the team achieve their goals. I am fit and I am looking forward to join my teammates in training on Tuesday.”
