Algeria attacker Nabil Ghilas netted a hat-trick for Gaziantepspor when they won a Super Lig thriller 4-3 against Kayserispor on Saturday in a match played at Kadir Has Stadium.
The attacker netted his fifth and sixth strikes of the season for Gaziantepspor as they registered an important victory over Kayserispor to keep in touch with the sides above them although they remain rooted at the bottom of the Turkish top flight table.
Ghilas first drew The Falcons level after they had fallen behind in the fourth minute from Umut Bulut’s opener.
The 26-year-old first powered home a low shot from the edge of the box from ?lhan Parlak’s cut back.
Denis Turuz restored Anadolu Yildizi’s lead from a penalty spot soon thereafter but Parlak drew Bulent Uygun’s men level again before Ghilas added two more.
Ghilas fired the visitors into the lead after volleying home from Tunisia’s Anis Ben-Hatira’s chip past the onrushing goalkeeper.
The former FC Porto forward completed his hat-trick in the 54th minute after an emphatic solo run. The attacker raced past a few challenges from the halfway line before coolly slotting past Ali Ahamada for the third time, leaving the score at 4-2.
Turuc stroke again in the 66th minute to reduce the deficit, but Gaziantepspor hung on for the three crucial three points.
This was the French-born attacker’s first goal since 21 October 2016. Prior to that, Ghilas last scored on the 1st of October having scored his first goal for the club on the 25th September to end a one-year, seven month goal drought.
He had last scored on the 21st of February 2015 whilst sill at Cordoba on loan from Porto.
