Harry Jarvis was convicted of his wife’s murder in 2011
Harry Jarvis, a prisoner at HMP Addiewell, was convicted at Edinburgh High Court on 30 March 2011.
The 67-year-old murdered his wife Carol Jarvis at their home in Bathgate, West Lothian, in 2009.
Jarvis’s lover, Rita Heyster, was convicted of helping him cover up the murder.
She had been living in Jarvis’s shed in the weeks before the crime. The 57-year-old was cleared of murder.
A spokesman for the Scottish Prison Service said: “Harry Jarvis, 67, a prisoner at HMP Addiewell has died.
“He was convicted at Edinburgh High Court on 30 March 2011.
“Police Scotland have been advised and the matter will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Next of kin have been informed and a fatal accident inquiry may be held in due course.”
