The 32-year-old was drafted into an unfamiliar role after all three of the club’s senior goalkeepers picked up injuries over the course of the season
Raith Rovers have been forced to start midfielder Ryan Stevenson in goal for their Scottish Championship clash against Ayr United.
All three of Raith’s goalkeepers have been struck down by injury, and the Scottish Football League denied their appeal for the match to be postponed.
That means Stevenson has been called into action between the sticks in a very unfamiliar role.
That said, he has appeared in goal before in his Partick Thistle days after Ryan Scully was sent off with five minutes to go of their loss to Hearts.
Raith have tried to find goalkeeping cover after Conor Brennan picked up a foot injury against Queen of the South on Saturday, but they have used up their loan quota for the season.
