Messi has been out of action since September after picking up an adductor injury
The forward has shaken off an adductor problem sustained in the Blaugrana’s 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in La Liga back in September ahead of his side’s trip to Estadio Riazor
Lionel Messi has been passed fit to return to the Barcelona squad for the Liga meeting with Deportivo on Saturday.
The Argentina star had been sidelined since picking up an adductor problem in the 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid on September 21.
Messi resumed team training this week, along with France international Samuel Umtiti, and is now in with a chance of featuring at Estadio Riazor alongside the central defender.
Luis Enrique revealed on Friday that both players had a good chance of returning to the first-team fold ahead of Barcelona’s trip to Deportivo.
“In principle, we’re getting back Samuel Umtiti and Leo. Messi’s been back with the group since Wednesday and looks good,” he said.
“You need minutes to get in shape and I’ll speak to him about tomorrow, but in principle, he’s ready, as is Samuel.”
Barca head into the match with 13 points from their first seven games, two behind Liga leaders Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona squad in full: Ter Stegen, Masip; Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Andrés Iniesta, Luis Suárez, Messi, Neymar, Rafinha, Mascherano, Alcácer, Digne, André Gomes, Umtiti, Mathieu.
