Barcelona superstar Leo Messi has jetted to Egypt on Tuesday as part of a domestic health campaign to fight Hepatitis C.
Messi had been scheduled to visit the north African country twice previously, but on each occasion he had to postpone.
The first visit was supposed to be in December, but that was pushed back following the Cairo cathedral bombing.
Messi was then due to arrive last week, but that trip got scrapped following Barcelona’s 4-0 hammering at PSG in the Champions League.
The scope of the visit is explained by King Fut:
The campaign is coordinated by Egypt’s Health and Tourism ministries, and launched by the Egyptian government in order to motivate patients of Hepatitis C from all around the world to seek treatment in Egypt, as it is cheaper and more effective.
