Flagbearer of the All Peoples’ Congress Hassan Ayariga on Saturday October 15,2016 launched his campaign at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region.
Despite his disqualification from the race by the EC over anoamlies with his nomination forms, the one-time presidential candidate of the PNC says he is determined to be a part of this year’s electoral process regardless of his disqualification insisting he is still in the race for the presidency.
Hassan Ayariga and 12 others were disqualified last week by the Electoral Commission for failing to meet the requirements in CI 94, the instrument governing this year’s polls. While some of the disqualified aspirants are seeking legal redress on the matter, the APC flagbearer chose to proceed with a scheduled campaign launch in the capital Accra.
During a presentation to his supporters, a rather confident Hassan Ayariga said the APC was ready to wrestle power from the governing NDC.
Like previous instances where the candidates of the two leading parties signed off their presentations with songs from Dancehall act Shatta Wale, Hassan Ayariga in like manner chose to dance to ‘Kakai’ as he was continuously cheered by the crowd.
