After months and months of rumours, verbal sparring, Instagram wars and #fakenews, it seems that a mega-money fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is about to happen.
McGregor, the reigning UFC lightweight champion, has been pushing the retired, unbeaten American for months, and the fight seemingly took one more step to becoming a reality last weekend when Mayweather said he was officially returning to boxing.
And now it appears a date and venue has been set for the proposed ‘billion-dollar fight’.
MMA insider Front Row Brian revealed on Twitter that the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas has been reserved for an event on June 10.
Obviously that tweet sent the boxing and UFC world into meltdown, so Front Row Brian was quick to state that the reservation didn’t necessarily mean that the two had agreed to fight each other.
If the fight does happen, it is reported that the pair will pocket $100 million each, though in reality McGregor will have to settle for less and hand his UFC bosses a slice of the pie.
