Dani Alves has spoken of his great dissatisfaction with former club Barcelona and revealed his strong feelings about the manner of his departure.
The full-back, who won 23 titles in his eight seasons at Camp Nou, says he felt disrespected and upset at the way the club behaved towards him at the end of his stay.
The Brazilian left on a free transfer in 2016 to join Serie A champions Juventus and was left feeling hurt at the way the club conducted its business when it came to the move.

“I like being loved and if they do not want me, I’m leaving,” the 33-year-old told Spanish newspaper ABC.
“During my last three seasons I always heard that Alves was leaving but the management never said anything to me.
” They were very false and ungrateful. They did not respect me. They only offered me a renewal because of the FIFA transfer ban.”
“That’s when I played their game and signed a renewal, which included a clause that allowed me to leave for free a year later.
” The people who run Barcelona have no idea how to treat their players.”
It is not just the Barcelona board, and president Josep Maria Bartomeu, who incurred Alves’s wrath, though. The Brazilian also attacked the Spanish media for the coverage given to Barcelona and Real Madrid.
“I just do not like them inventing things, manipulating and creating bad moods – I am referring to the sports press in Madrid and Barcelona,” he continued in the interview.
“They do bar journalism, social media journalism. They are only interested in morbidity and that’s not telling the truth.
“They have to respect us. Behind the footballer, there is a human being.”
