Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote and Mike Adenuga, both Nigerians, are individually richer than American president and businessman Donald Trump.
According to the 2017 Forbes rich list, Mr Dangote is worth $12.2billion and is the 105th richest person on earth. Mr Dangote is famous in the cement business and also owns businesses in rice and sugar production, among others.
Mr Dangote’s compatriot, Mr Adenuga, is worth $5.8billion and the 250th richest person on earth. He is in the telecommunications industry.
Donald Trump is worth $3.5billion and, before becoming president, was in the television and real estate business.
Meanwhile, Microsoft founder Bill Gates remains the richest man on earth with an estimated worth of $86billion.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has catapulted to fifth and the richest person under 35 years. The 33-year-old is worth $56billion.
