U. S. Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton leads her Republican counterpart Donald Trump in Georgia, a bastion of the Deep South that traditionally voted for a Republican candidate; a new poll showed on Monday.
Clinton has a seven point lead over Trump, with 44 percent to 37 percent, while 7 percent likely voters favor Libertarian candidate Gary johnson, according to the JMC Analytics poll. Another 10 percent interviewees remain undecided at the moment.
While Clinton enjoys robust support from the local African-American communities, she is also pulling one in four white votes, the poll found.
It was the second poll since last week that showed Clinton beats Trump in Georgia. Georgia last voted for a Democratic presidential nominee in 1992, when Bill Clinton defeated George H.W. Bush.
