Chelsea FC grabbed three points at Riverside Stadium in a narrow win Sunday afternoon. Diego Costa’s 10th goal of the season ensured the London side a win and a positive push on the table for that matter.
Chelsea created enough chances throughout the game but were unable to capitalize on them executing just four out of thirteen chances.
Middlesborough on the other hand were not too formidable but put up a good fight until the end. Victor Valdes as usual was sensational for his side making impeccable saves.
A sluggish Middlesborough defense saw Diego Costa open the score line with a set piece by Eden Hazard in the 41st minute. Chelsea managed to hold on to that advantage to the final minute despite pressure from the Boro.
Victor Moses was named [MOTM] as he continues his flawless form under new manager, Antonio Conte.
Chelsea was named team of the month earlier in the week with Eden Hazard claiming player of the month and Antonio Conte, manager of the month.
However, the Chelsea we saw this afternoon was not the best Chelsea we’ve seen in recent weeks but grabbing all 3 point and going on top of the table, is good enough results for Conte.
Middlesborough have lost their last six Premier League games against Chelsea failing to score in each match.
