The former Blues striker made a habit of scoring against the Gunners down the years and has joked at making a comeback to haunt them once again
Having been a thorn in their side down the years, Didier Drogba has threatened Arsenal with one last hurrah for Chelsea in the 2017 FA Cup final.
Over the course of two goal-laden spells with the Blues, the Ivorian made a habit of netting on the big occasion against London foes.
Conte: I trust all Chelsea players
The Gunners rarely had an answer to Drogba’s pace and power, and despite now being 39 years of age, the iconic frontman has joked at making a return to his former club to aid their trophy hunt.
Chelsea is set to face Arsenal at Wembley on May 27, with semi-finals successes against Tottenham and Manchester City respectively ensuring that old rivalries will be rekindled with major silverware on the line.
Drogba’s 16 efforts against Arsenal to date have come across six competitions and for three different sides.
Of that haul, 13 came while with Chelsea, two with Galatasaray and one for the MLS All-Stars.
Kante named PFA Player of the Year
His presence would likely send shivers down Arsene Wenger’s spine, but there are plenty of other threats for him to contend with.
Antonio Conte has another brute of a frontman on his books in Diego Costa, while the likes of Eden Hazard, Pedro, Willian and former Gunner Cesc Fabregas are all capable of producing match-winning displays on their day.
Dear @PHXRisingFC I’ll be off on loan with @ChelseaFC for two days 26/27th of May, just to make it 17/17 against #afc #IswearIBeBack #banter— Didier Drogba (@didierdrogba) April 23, 2017
