The Cameroon Professionals league returns to the nation for the first time in five month when Bambootos of Mboda host Canon of Yaounde later today. The last domestic championship fixture before today’s kick was dated back in October when before financial setback and the Women AFCON stalled the new season.
Fans across Cameroon will be treated to domestic league matches for the first time in five months as the league returns to the various match venues. The 2016/17 edition of the Professionals Championship battled a number of issues ranging from financial shortcomings to the organisation of the 2017 Women Cup of Nation , staged in Cameroon.
The 18 club league in the Francophone country however ended it’s dormancy with an imminent return on Saturday, February 25 , 2017. An official launching in the nation’s capital will be followed by the week’s blockbuster involving Bambootos and Canon, two of the country’s largely followed clubs. Each clubs in the top flight will take home CFA12 million whiles the 18 teams in the second tier take 50 percent less.
