Brad Pitt First Appearance On Red Carpet Since Angelina Jolie Split

Brad Pitt appeared on the red carpet for the first time since his split from Angelina Jolie.

The 52-year-old star made a solo appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of his latest film, “Allied,” a World War II drama co-starring Marion Cotillard.

“It’s really sweet, everyone has been really kind out here,” he said at the event, which was livestreamed on Facebook. “It’s really nice to have all the support.”

The actor’s red carpet appearance came shortly after ABC News confirmed a TMZ report stating that the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services had recently cleared Pitt of a child abuse allegation made against him in September, stemming from an argument he had with one of his children at that time.

A rep for Pitt and DCFS declined comment.

A rep for Jolie told ABC News, “The job of the DCFS is to make sure the children are in a safe and secure situation. As we said earlier this week, childcare professionals encouraged a legal agreement accepted and signed by both sides that was in the best interest of the children. Angelina said from the beginning that she felt she had to take action for the health of the family and is relieved that after their 8-week involvement, the DCFS is now satisfied the safeguards are put in place that will allow the children to heal.”

He skipped the premiere of his film “Voyage of Time” that same month to stay “focused on his family.”

Jolie, 41, filed the petition to end their marriage on Sept. 20, citing irreconcilable differences and saying it was for the health of the family. At the time, Pitt released a statement saying, “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids.”

Jolie asked for sole physical custody of their six children, while Pitt later filed for joint custody.

On Monday, a rep for Jolie released a statement saying the couple had reached an agreement over a week ago. According to the agreement, the six children — Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8 — will stay in their mother’s custody and continue “therapeutic visits” with their father.

“This has been determined by childcare professionals to be in the children’s best interest,” the statement read, adding, “We believe that all sides are committed to healing the family.”

Pitt and Jolie tied the knot in 2014 after almost a decade together.
