Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO, Ezekiel Mutua, has vowed to fight plans by the atheist community in Kenya to hold an event for ‘godless’ upbringing of children.
A poster of the event doing the rounds on social media informs of a meeting for atheist parents in Nairobi to take place on September 24.
Dubbed ‘Atheist Parenting with Gloria’, with the theme Raising Children without God, the forum is dedicated to helping atheist parents in Kenya to raise well-educated, thoughtful, ethical, socially responsible, environmentally aware and most importantly ‘godless’ children.
“Your journey as a parent raising atheist children will definitely not be as easy as saying ‘Cuz Jesus made it that way,’ or ‘The devil made me do it’. Yet as your children grow up as educated atheists in a world without gods, without fear of eternal damnation for thought crimes as an 8 year old, they will thank you in more ways than you can imagine,” reads a message on the poster on www.koikonfait.com.
DEVIL’S AGENDA
However, in a long post on his Facebook page Mr Mutua has informed the atheist community that the Kenya constitution acknowledges the supremacy of God and the family as the basic unit of the society.
Guided by these principles, he says, he will defend them to his last breath in as much as he is labelled a moralist, a high handed and intolerant official without regard for the law whenever he he fights such things.
“This may sound like a hoax but it’s actually the real devil’s agenda for our children. It’s a foreign agenda being pushed through the media, especially film and the internet. Our very existence as a society is premised on these fundamental principles and I will defend them with my last breath,” wrote Mr Mutua
