South African Ingram Extends Contract With Glamorgan

Former South African international batsman Colin Ingram committed himself to a further two years with English county side Glamorgan on Thursday.

The 31-year-old — who played the last of his 31 one-day Internationals for the Proteas in 2013 — will play all formats this season but restrict himself to the limited overs competitions next term.

Ingram, who also played Twenty20 cricket for his country, has been a success at the county — scoring 1,712 runs across all formats in his first campaign.

However, a knee injury last season prevented him playing in the County Championship but he starred for them in the limited overs competitions.

“I am delighted to commit to Glamorgan,” said Ingram, who recorded three centuries in One Day Internationals for the Proteas.

“After being sidelined by injury from first-class cricket last year I’ll be focusing more on the white-ball game from next season.

“However I’m intent on playing for Glamorgan across all formats for the rest of this season and will do everything I can to ensure we enjoy a successful year.”
