Deputy Energy minister John Jinapor has revealed that Finance minister Seth Terkper has been given the oversight responsibility of the Power ministry by President John Mahama.
He said Mr. Tekper is the acting minister in-charge of Power in the country.
The clarification comes on the heels of the confusion over who is in charge of the ministry following the resignation of the substantive minister Dr. Kwabena Donkor in January this year.
Speaking on Newsfile Saturday, the former presidential spokesperson clarified that he is not the substantive minister of Power and people must desist from referring to him as such.
“The acting minister for the sector is the honourable finance minister Seth Terkper and he has been very helpful especially with the finance arrangements,” he stated.
Dr. Donkor who was in charge of the ministry resigned his post after he failed to deliver on his promise of ending the power crisis which had bedeviled the country for three years.
