Nigerian artiste, Wizkid will headline a concert with his StarBoy team at the Accra Sports Stadium in December 2016.
Co-headliners for the yet-to-be-announced concert are Efya, R2Bees and Mr. Eazi.
It will be a ‘return’ of a sort for the ‘Baby Nla‘ act, who last performed in Ghana on May 8 at the 2016 Ghana Music Awards. He announced during his performance that he had signed the above-named artistes to his StarBoy WorldWide label.
No details of the contract were made available except Omar Sterling (one half of R2Bees) been named as President of the imprint.
In July this year, Mr. Eazi spoke to LIVE FM’s Sammy Forson and Vanessa Gyan about how joining Wizzy’s imprint would impact his career.
“StarBoy WorldWide is an umbrella, and then there is a different subsidiary. Everyone is leveraging on each other’s talents and access. It’s not a tired down deal.”
The ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker recently signed a 7-figure deal with Sony Music, American label and company owned by Sony through Sony Entertainment.
The company will handle distribution of his works in the United States of America, a deal likely to benefit to the acts signed to his label.
In the past few months, Wizkid has worked with the likes of Drake, Wale, Tinie Tempeh, Skepta and Chris Brown. Collaborations with Award-winning producer Swizz Beatz, Rihanna and Diplo is said to be in the works.
