Multiple award winning artiste and radio personality, Nana Yaw Oduro-Agyei known by the stage as Trigmatic, has advised presenters, DJ’s, writers and other stakeholders who have command over the Entertainment industry, to set an agenda to help dominate the African music market.
According to him, every country has its own lyrical content and that in a way can help adopt good plans and structures in letting the world know our Ghanaian way of doing music. Trigmatic in an interview with Flex newspaper had said that South Africans used to dominate the music market before Nigerians adopted a strategy which catapulted their music industry making them the current leaders in the African music market. Due to this, most African countries now look to Nigeria when it comes to music.
“We all know they were known as 419 people but because they planned and mapped up a good strategy, they were able to enter into the South African music market when the South Africans least expected them. Not only do they dominate the music market, they also dominate the movie market as well. They were successful because of an agenda to take over the entertainment industry and change the image of their country, their focus is to push their industry hence they concentrate more on themselves and never give attention to other neighbours when it comes to entertainment. We can also adopt an agenda which will help us dominate and take over from the Nigerians,” the rapper told Flex newspaper.
Trigmatic in his final words called on the media to help make this agenda a reality. He said they should always say good things about our industry because they have influence on society. The Nigerians achieved this purpose because their media reported and said good things about their entertainment industry to the world. He therefore asked the media and stakeholders in the music industry to set an agenda which will push the music industry to the world.
