One argument that usually characterizes the aftermath of the biggest music festival in Ghana is the artiste or group with the best performance on the night.
The 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) which was held last Saturday witnessed a lot of performances by musicians who represented the various genre of music that were celebrated on the night.
BET award winner Sarkodie, Kofi Kinaata, Stonebwoy, Samini Joe Mettle and host of musicians mounted the stage to showcase their artistry prowess but one performance that seem to be the pick of the bunch is a performance by group of established gospel musicians.
Led by the ever-consistent sound engineer and singer Nacee , the group that included Ohemaa Mercy, Joyce Blessing, Gifty Osei, DSP Kofi Sarpong and other well-known gospel musicians sent patrons to the spiritual realm with the ‘ayeyi’ song which was originally done by Gospel All Stars before sending the crowd into an absolute spiritual-craziness with a rap song by gospel pop singer Kings Kid.
The coordinated manner of the performance and the melodious tunes churned out by the gospel musicians makes it an easy pick for the most outstanding performance on the night
On an night that a gospel musician made history by winning the flagship award, a group of gospel stars also made the headlines for their impressive display. VGMA 2017 will obviously go down as one for gospel artistes in the country
