Multi-award winning singer, Waje, has kicked off her ‘Mountain Project’ shortly after dropping the video to her latest single ‘Mountain’ featuring popular South African singer, Lira.
The singer said the project aims at celebrating everyone who seeks victory despite life’s trials.
“Everyone has a story but the underlying idea of this project is to make people see their stories as that of persistence and determination, of the will to keep striving even amidst struggles,” said Waje about the project in an interview with HipTV.
“Which demonstrates the fact that as individuals, no matter what life throws at us, we can climb any mountain’’
The song ‘Mountain’ which was released on March 2, 2017, celebrates the persistence and resilience of Africans, its females. It was mixed and mastered by Olaitan Dada, produced and co-written by SizzlePro with back-up vocals from Natalio productions. The video which was shot in Lagos was produced by Jennifer Alegieuno and directed by Clarence peters.
Waje performed ‘Mountain’ alongside Lira for the first time on stage at the 2017 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs). And she announced the Mountain Project via her Instagram by taking on the persona of different Nigerian women who have distinct struggles but are persistent and resilient to keep on striving through it all.
