Veteran movie actor, Akwasi Boadi known in showbiz as ‘Akrobeto’ has asked media houses especially television stations to wait for local movies to be premiered before subjecting them to public viewing.
Akrobeto in an interview with Embosuohemaa on Atinka TV’s morning show, ‘Ghana Nie’ Friday, mentioned that showing new movies right after their release does not help the movie industry.
According to the Kumasi-based actor, it would be proper for owners of media houses to wait for a year after the release of a movie before screening them. He added that usually when viewers get the opportunity to watch these new movies on tv channels, buying copies of the same movies becomes problematic.
He pleaded with media houses to consider these factors before showing new movies especially the Kumawood ones.
