Celebrated gospel musician, SP Kofi Sarpong, has disclosed how corporate bodies turn gospel musicians and promoters down when they go for sponsorship.
SP Kofi Sarpong is preparing to stage an anticipated mammoth gospel concert next month. The concert which is, among other objectives, to celebrate the music career of Kofi Sarpong, will be his first gospel concert in his nine-year-old music career.
According to him, he and his team had on several occasions been turned down when they approached corporate organizations for support to stage the gospel concert.
“It is all about who helps you to do it. You send proposals. They look at it. It is gospel, they turn it down. That’s what has kept us that long,” he revealed in an interview last interview.
But he added he will go ahead to organize the concert anyway. “We have started with the little that we have. Maybe as time goes on we will have corporate bodies, entities or individuals who want to help will meet us half way,” he said.
The concert is scheduled for May 28, 2017 at the National Theatre in Accra. It will officially be launched on April 27 at the Alisa Hotel in Accra. Other award-winning gospel stars who will perform at the event include Ohemaa Mercy, Joyce Blessing, Abena Ruth and a host of others.
