Sonnie Badu has reprimanded the Black Stars for their abysmal performance against the Pharaohs of Egypt in Wednesday’s clash.
The gospel singer said, “… what happened today? Was it a dress rehearsal? I understand that some players had to be benched in order for the new ones to have some experience. But if [that was the case], then Gyan should have been benched to rest for the quarter finals.”
“These Egyptians have been a pain in our neck for so long. Remember they took the AFCON from us some years back? And recently, they have really reduced our chances to the World Cup qualifications,” he averred.
The sensational singer who obviously is a football enthusiast after criticizing the team, pleaded with them to put up a good show in the quarter finals.
“No dress rehearsals during the quarter finals. We are either in or out. Please make us proud by bringing the Cup home,” he charged them in a message he shared on Instagram.

Dear black stars , I hope Gyan is doing ok. From what we saw, it looked like an old injury came back, hopefully Avram has a plan B. Now on a serious note, what happened today? Was it a dress rehearsal? I understand that some players had to be benched inorder for the new ones to have some experience but if so, then Gyan should have been benched to rest for the quarter finals. These Egyptians have been a pain in our neck for so long. Remember they took the Afcon from us some years back? And recently, they have really reduced our chances to the World Cup qualifications. With this been said, I plead with you, no dress rehearsals during the quarter finals. We are either in or out .. pls make us proud by bringing the Cup home, thank you and God bless …. Badu ..
