One time hiplife artiste Ex-Doe born Richard Kwasi Siaw Akrofi, has said the ‘beef’ between Shatta Wale and Yaa Pono could get physical if not checked.
He was reacting to the recent exchange of words and diss songs between Shatta Wale and Yaa Pono, which he describes as unhealthy for the industry.
Speaking in an interview with Dr Pounds on Hitz FM’s Hitz Gallery, the rapper expressed his concern that the ‘beef’ between the two artistes could degenerate into violence.
“If one gets angry and cannot win this lyrical fight, won’t he pull a gun? Won’t he go and fight with his squad? It is going to be deadly. I am really sad,” he observed.
Ex-Doe who is on record as among one of the first hiplife artistes to release a ‘diss’ song, further disclosed that he regrets his ‘beef’ with rapper Chicago and feels he was a bad role model to up and coming musicians.
“I regret beefing with Chicago it feels like we taught the kids something bad. The ‘beef’ doesn’t help the industry though it has brought about attention,” he said.
“We were young when we started (beefing) but when you grow up you and leave the lifestyle, you will realise that even 2Pac and Biggie would have regretted it if they were alive.
“In their case, they lost their lives for doing that. We are lucky we are still alive,” the rapper stressed.
