Ghanaian acts, Shatta Wale, Bisa Kdei and Efya made Ghana proud at the just ended 2016 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) held in Dallas, Texas, United States of America.
Shatta beats competition from Stonebwoy, Samini, Burna Boy, Buffola Soldier, Timaya and Patoranking to win the “Best DanceHall Act” award. Highlife artiste Bisa Kdei beats competition from Flavour, Phyno, Koredo Bello and Sauti Sol to win the “Video of The Year” award.
Soul Songtress, Efya was adjudged the “Best Female West Africa” award beating off competition from Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade and MzVee to win the award.
The award scheme, organizers say “is the sole award ceremony in the Diaspora that caters to all musical genres including but not limited to: Afrobeats, Assiko, Bongo, Decale, Funana, Genge, Highlife, Hiplife, Kwaito, Lingala and Soukous.”
It was hosted by Nigerian Comedian BasketMouth and Reality TV Star Cynthia Bailey.
