It’s quite unusual for a female musician to accuse a male musician of stealing her name, but Salti Paulette has opposed that perception by facetiously accusing defunct hiplife group; Praye for stealing her name.
Known in real life as Paulette Broohm, Salti Paulette shot to fame after contesting in the maiden edition of popular TV reality show; TV 3 Mentor (Mentor 1) with the likes of Okuraseni Samuel, Andy, Hakeem, Ruth, Isaac, Martin etc.
Explaining how the multiple award winning Praye group–comprising of Tintin, Tietia and Honeho, who are also noted with the hit song ‘Angelina’, stole her name, Salti Paulette quipped to razzonline.com that:
“We all know the English word for Praye is Broom–and am called Paullette Broohm so Praye stole my name—actually, during my school days I wanted to use the name ‘Praye’ but I found out that they (Praye group) were using the name already. I initially wanted to sue them, but I realized that Broom is spelt without an ‘H’.
Saiti Paulette who released her maiden album in 2010, is currently out with her newest single “Go Crazy’ that features Nigerian born Olumide. Most entertainment pundits have tipped the ‘Go Crazy’ song to have the potential to easily break into the international music scene.
