Former Face of Methodist University College Ghana (MUCG) Pennina Yeboah was last Friday, November 18, crowned Miss Intercontinental at this year’s Miss Globe beauty pageant, which came off in Tirana, Albania.
Pennina however lost the ultimate crown to India’s Dimple Patel. Miss Colombia, Yenny Carrillo and Miss Albania, Kristiana Skurra emerged first runner- up and second runner- up respectively.
Pennina, a commercial runway and photo model signed to Slash Garvin owned by DSG Model Management was one of 45 contestants gunning for the ultimate prize.
Speaking to Showbiz last Sunday, Pennina said, “I am very happy to represent Ghana at such a global event. The competition wasn’t an easy one. It was quite demanding. I fell sick during the event but for the love of my country, I gave off my best and to be recognised for my hard work is indeed an honour. I’m just happy I made my country proud.”
A spokesperson for DSG Model Management said, “We as an organisation are also proud that our model brought home honours. Our aim as a modelling agency is to change the perception people have about models in the country.”
Pennina is the second model from the Accra-based modelling agency to represent the country at such an international event.
Last year, her colleague Maud Fadi was in São Tomé and Príncipe for the Exquisite Face of the Universe contest, after placing second at Miss Earth 2015 competition.
