The housemates who were last week nominated for eviction from the Big Brother Naija reality show – TBoss, Bally, Marvis and Debie-Rise – received a cumulative eleven million votes.
This was made known by host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu during Sunday’s live eviction show.
According to Obi-Uchendu, “The housemates got a total of 11 million votes this week alone”.
To vote for a Big Brother housemate costs N100 per attempt. Eleven million votes at N100 each amounts to N1.1bn.
Although millions of Africans across the continent tune into the show on a daily basis, only Nigerians are allowed to vote.
How the nominated housemates fared
TBoss- 26.49%
Debie-Rise – 25.36%
Marvis – 24.40%
Bally – 23.76%
After receiving the lowest number of votes, Bobai Bally Balat became the eleventh housemate to be evicted from the show.
Only last week, he had received the highest number of votes from the public, with 30.24% of the total votes cast.
Following his eviction, it was announced that no other housemate will be sent home until the end of the show.
Efe, Bisola, Marvis, TBoss and Debie-Rise are the five finalists.
The eventual winner will get a prize money of N25 million and an automobile.
The ongoing show is regarded as the most popular Big Brother competition to ever air on Nigerian television – owing to the high level of engagement, voting and followership.
