Unlike some of his colleagues who have openly declared their support for one political party or the other, Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM) says his vote is his secret and so he is keeping that to himself.
Speaking with Showbiz last Tuesday, the host of The KSM Show on Metro TV said his vote is the only thing he can keep to himself as a secret, “people can assume where I am but that is one thing that I am keeping to myself, it’s my secret.”
Sharing his thoughts on celebrity endorsements, KSM said he is very happy about it. “First of all, I am very happy about it for one main reason – the endorsement means a lot to the political parties and it also means that entertainers are being endorsed and appreciated.
“I am happy to know that from the entertainers point of view, what they say matters. I hope that when someone says that they endorse someone, it should be seen as a reflection of how they feel and it must be respected by all, unfortunately in Ghana, some people are very intolerant, people have something against you once you stand firmly on your decision,” he stated.
KSM cited an instance where an artiste’s DVDs were burnt because he endorsed a particular political party. He, however, added that people who do such things are just a minute portion of the populace.
Away from politics and giving his impression on the current creative arts industry, this is what KSM had to say, “I think we still have a long way to go, I also think the structures are not in place and not developed. Most of us in the creative arts do not know or understand the business of the creative arts,” he said.
Showbiz asked KSM if his fans are to expect a show from him this Christmas, “Yes, it’s a tradition that must continue, especially in an election year, we will bring you something to ease the tension.”
Before leaving us, KSM had a message for his fans and Ghanaians in general, “I assure you that we are going to have a very peaceful elections, the US should send an observer team not to teach us but to learn from us. I believe Ghanaians will rise up to the occasion and we will have a very peaceful elections,” he said.
