Thousands of music lovers on Saturday besieged the Accra Sports Stadium for the third edition of Starr FM’s S-Concert and not even a World Cup final between the Black Stars and Brazil can pull the crowd who mostly stayed on their feet for over 10 hours.
The Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday evening witnessed an assembly of musicians who treated over 50, 000 people to hours of nonstop fun.
The S-Concert was a must-attend outdoor event and anyone who missed it simply missed the biggest event of the year.
Crowned by Shatta Wale, who performed till 5am, Sunday, it also featured serial star performer Sarkodie, as well as E. L, Rudebwoy Ranking, Medikal, Tee Phlow, MzVee, Eno, Ras Kuuku, Article Wan, Wisa, Nii Funny, Yaa Pono and over 30 other mainstream and upcoming acts.
Sponsored by Kasapareko, the concert started at about 7pm local time, Saturday, allowing relatively unsigned acts to perform before the headliners graced the event.
The crowd who continuously chanted the name of Shatta Wale went gaga when the self-acclaimed ‘Dancehall King’ and his Shatta Movement crew mounted the stage, but the King of rap in Ghana, Sarkodie proved he is still the artiste to beat in Ghana.
A combination of fireworks, from the crowd, lighted up the venue for the artistes. It, however, went into an overdrive when Shatta Wale came on stage some minutes past 4am Sunday.
