Kofi Kinaata is hurt at reports he called Amy Newman a liar.
Kinaata tells the folks at Phylx TV, he has too much respect for and adores Newman to call her names for any reason at all.
The ‘Confession‘ act claims he made a statement in response to the question of whether the people of Western Region support home bred artistes or not, and that the response wasn’t directed at Newman.
“The questions i was asked didn’t come with reference to what had been said by Amy Newman. The interviewer asked me; They say people from Takoradi don’t support their own? And I responded; It’s not true. That is where am coming from. Before they will hail you, then there is something unique they have seen about you,” says Kinaata.
“They are selective, scrutinize you and when they realise you are working hard, they throw their massive support behind you. Saying all these, i was making reference to underground and upcoming artistes. I didn’t even know Amy Newman had granted an interview saying Takoradi people don’t support their own.”
He also explained his comments on drunkards using his new song as a motivation of a sort.
