Boadcaster/style icon Kofi Okyere Dark (KOD) pulled off an exquisite 2017 edition of his annual Rhythms on Da Runway fashion event yesterday April 1st.
Held at the Banquet Hall-State House (Accra) the night witnessed a colourful display of variant styles, and was graced by the very creme of society: in music, film, fashion, sports, corporate Ghana, and government.
On the runway were a captivating display of designs from esteemed designers as Ophelia Crossland, Abrantie The Gentleman, Velma’s Accessories, Bon Collections, NINETEEN57 BY KOD, South Africa’s Palse, as well New York – based Kenyan designer Narok.
There were also exciting performances from top acts as M.anifest, Bisa KDei, Wutah Kobby, Akwaboah, Saxophonist Okyere, and SarkCess Music frontman Sarkodie. Rapper Coded (4×4), madman Kwaw Kese, actor James Gardiner, OAP Lexis Bill, PY Addo Boateng, and TV Host Akumaa Mama Zimbi all hit the runway as celebrity models.
Rhythms on Da Runway 2017 was hosted by Joy FM’s Nathaniel Attoh, as well as Zimbabwean presenter Vimbai Mutinhiri.
KOD hails from Winneba in the Central Region of Ghana. 40, KOD began his radio career at Accra-based Radio Gold and, mastering the rudiments from cousin Kwesi Kyei Dakwah (KKD), he has gone on to build an illustrious career in radio, TV, hosting events, artiste management and fashion. In 2015, he was crowned Most Stylist Radio Personality at the Glitz Africa Style Awards.
Former presidents Jerry Rawlings and J. E.A Mills, football stars Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien, Emmanuel Adebayor, Jamaican Reggae Star Buju Banton, International Gospel singer Sonnie Badu, broadcaster Nathaniel Attoh have all worn Nineteen57 Clothing.
