One of Ghana’s emerging rap stars, Ko-Jo Cue has penned a new deal with popular American fast food restaurant chain, KFC to lead its “Streetwise 2” campaign in Ghana.
The deal which seeks to build out KFC’s “Streetwise 2” campaign across the country was reached a few weeks ago and has already been rolled out in Cue’s home city of Kumasi and Accra.
According to the deal, the “Tsioo Benke” crooner will be KFC’s main influencer and would use his influence to spread the message on and off social media especially among his young fans.
In an interview, the “Wole” hitmaker, said he managed to clinch the deal because, “they wanted an intelligent guy from the street who has worked his way from the bottom almost to the top.”
Touching on the duration of the contract, he said “we have discussed projects that will take our relationship well into the years ahead, maybe even forever but it all depends on the outcome of this current campaign.”
He added that: “the campaign is also happening simultaneously in Kenya and South Africa, and Khuli Chana is the main influencer in South Africa.”
Even though the BBnZ Live signed artiste refused to disclose the amount involved in the deal, sources say he earned a finger-licking good deal.
Giant billboards have been mounted at vantage points within the cities of Accra, Tema and Kumasi to help run the “Streetwise 2” campaign successfully.
