Kasapa Fm’s afternoon drive time show host, Reynold Kwame Empeh popularly known as Kwame Bee will soon turn a politician.
The host of ‘Di Wu Lane Mu’ on Kasapa 102.5FM, told Kasapa Entertainment that he would quit radio and venture into full time politics in the next five years.
According to him, the media work is mainly based on talent and as time goes on, other people come up with different styles so as the long-serving presenters get older, the promising ones also come out with something new.
“Most of the presenters on radio years ago like; Gabby Adjetey, Tommy Annan Forson, KKD and others are no more on radio. You’ll find a few like; Kwame Sefa Kayi, Abeiku Santana and others still on radio. I don’t agree with those saying that the standard of radio has fallen because what we listen to in 1994 can’t be the same thing today, so it will change. I‘ve been on radio for quite a long time. I’ve worked for some radio stations in the Ashanti, Western, Volta and in Greater Accra Region. I started in 2005 at Dynamite FM with Kwame Dzokoto and others so I think we’ve to go off for others to also take the mantle,” he disclosed.
Kwame Bee who was optimistic about his new political ambition said he dislikes sitting back and complaining about issue affecting the community and citizens he normally interacts with.
“Sometimes, you’ve to also show what you can do. Well, I don’t have a political party for now but will choose a party that will help me win.
“I want to be the politician who will be truthful to his people. I’m thinking about being a member of parliament. I know it isn’t easy to be an MP so I’ll start with serious politics in the next five years so in eight years’ time, I’ll find my name on the ballot paper,” he added.
When asked if money could be a factor to his movement from radio to politics, he said; “Money is important but the point is that my interest and challenges are what I’m considering. Money must come because no one works for free but the most important thing is the impact,” he concluded.
Kwame Bee is currently the host of Kasapa FM’s ‘Di Wu Lane Mu’, an afternoon drive time show committed to serve listeners to good music and exciting entertainment.
‘Di Wu Lane Mu’ on Kasapa 102.5 FM, spans from 3pm to 8pm on Mondays through to Friday.
