Mellow rapper Joey B, known for such widespread hits as Tonga, Cigarette, You x Me among others, is one of a number of Ghanaians including Killbeatz, Worlasi, and Bisa KDei, who will partake in this year’s edition of the Coke Studio Africa series.
According to inside information available to ENEWSGH, the rapper jetted of to Nairobi- Kenya this morning.
This year has American singer Jason Derulo as special guest artist. He follows other top American acts as Wyclef Jean, NE- YO, and Trey Songz who have all graced the African stage.
This year, housemates come from countries as outh Africa, Rwanda, Angola, Zimbabwe, Togo, Madagascar, Mauritius, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, Mozambique, DRC, Ethiopia, and Cameroon.
Nigeria’s MI Abaga and 2Baba (2Face Idibia), Kenya’s Avril, Ghana’s EL, Stonebwoy, Efya and Mozambique’s Neymar have all performed at previous editions of Coke Studio Africa.
Born Darryl Paa Kwesi Bannerman-Martin, he recently released his DARRYL EP ahead of his debut album 89. He is a former VGMA New Artist of the Year, and is ambassador for international sportswear brand Adidas.
