Outstanding Ghanaian movie producer and director, Jackson K Bentum has joined the argument over a recent demonstration in the Krobo Odumase in the Eastern Region compelling the flag bearer of the NPP to apologize on behalf of Agya Koo for a comment made in a movie which they see it as derogatory against their tribe.
According to Mr Bentum who spoke to OGEE on DESS FM 90.3 over the weekend, he said the directors are responsible for everything that goes into a movie and not the actors.
“Agya Koo has done nothing wrong. He was not responsible for what went into the movie but the director. The actors don’t determine what goes into a movie. If the actor even says anything bad, the director has every reason to take it out. At the end of the day, the actor has been paid for the role played. He’s not there to determine what should be taken out or added at the editing bench.”
A group of demonstrators trooped to the streets of Odumase Krobo in the Eastern Region during Nana Akuffo Addo’s visit to the area as part of his campaign ahead of the 2016 general elections.
The demonstrators demanded among others that the leader of the NPP apologize to the people of Krobo land over a comment made by veteran actor, Agya Koo in a movie which they see it as an insult against their tribe
