Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Big Borax has asserted that working with highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba is very tough.
Borax who shot to fame after recording ‘Ase?h?’ with Lumba believes it takes a person with so much discipline to work with the legend because he does not condone mediocrity.
“It’s tough working with Lumba. His ‘yes’ is ‘yes’; his ‘no’ is ‘no’. He is a very serious person so if you’re not serious, you can’t work with him,” he said on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, Thursday.
Borax intimated that his working relationship with Lumba has been very helpful. He told host, KMJ that the level of his lyrical composition has improved ever since he started rolling with Daddy Lumba.
“Working with Lumba has influenced my music writing ability because he is the type who thinks deeply before coming out with a song. Working with him has influenced me in so many ways. The way he handles himself, relates to the people…,” he said.
The artiste, real name Nathaniel Adjetey Larbi recorded two albums with Lumba after which their working relationship came to an end. According to him, they were working on contractual basis, a reason they did not record further after ‘Ase?h?’ and ‘Pa Ntoma’.
“It was a two-album contract. There weren’t any issues. I’m still cool with Lumba,” he noted.
Borax is out with a single titled Mr Politician which he describes as a wake –up call to African politicians.
