Veteran actor Asonaba Kwaku Darko aka Super O. D. has expressed interest in taking up roles in movies if he gets the opportunity.
The experience actor in an interview with asempanews.com indicated that young Ghanaian actors have dropped the standard as far as acting is concerned; hence his utmost disinterest in their movies.
“I do not actually sit to watch full Kumawood movies, but when I chance on certain scenes, I stop briefly to watch a scene or two. My interest in these movies is low because I feel they do not render it as ‘solid’ as I would if I were playing that role, but you know, they are young and still learning,” he said in his local dialect.
Ailing Super OD, who had a blissful acting career spanning from the 1970s to the 90’s, was very popular for his roles in local Ghanaian series, Akan Drama on GTV.
Acting with the Oppong Drama Group which later became known as Osofo Dadzie Group, Super O.D gained nationwide popularity for his impeccable acting and rib cracking jokes. The veteran actor besides his acting career landed private jobs to appear in television commercials to advertise company products.
Super O.D. appeared in Ghanaian movies ‘Double Cross’, ‘Fatal Decision’ and ‘Crossfire’ produced by HM Films; a feat which shot him up further in the
