One question that has been asked by some fans of the winner of the Season 8 of TV3’s ‘Talented Kidz,’ DJ Switch, is how long she has been playing music with the turntables.
The quest to find out more about the young girl’s exceptional talent, took Citi Showbiz to the doorstep of Evans Tawiah, popularly known as DJ Fuad who trained DJ prodigy Erica Tandoh aka DJ Switch.
According to DJ Fuad, he was invited by Erica’s mum Lillian to train her child so she could contest for ‘Talented Kidz’ reality show.
“I used to play gigs for Erica’s uncle so he was the one that recommended me to Madam Lillian to train her child,” he said.
DJ Fuad added that DJ Switch was a very talented girl who could sing, rap and dance but her parents thought auditioning for the ‘Talented Kidz’ as a DJ would increase her chances of winning.
“Her mother had seen a three-year old DJ Arch who took part in ‘South Africa Got Talent’ and believed her 9 year-old daughter could do same,” DJ Fuad noted.

He disclosed that it took him five months to get DJ Switch to be able to put up that spectacular performance in the competition.
“She did not know anything about playing music when I started training her. I first introduced her to Virtual DJ on a PC before adding the professional player. She is a fast learner. Within 5 months she could do a lot behind the console,” he said.
