Popular Kumawood actor, Yaw Baah popularly known as Taller is incensed at the comment by Minister for Sport, Nii Lante Vanderpuye that the presidency is not for short people.
According to him, the ‘unintelligent’ gaffe by a Minister of his [Nii Lante] stature on live television nearly cost his life.
“I nearly poisoned myself if not for God’s intervention because I’m a very short person. Is he saying short people are good for nothing?,” he bemoaned.
Taller who is also a business man at Tip Toe Lane in Circle disclosed this in an interview on Adom News days after the Sport Minister made the comment at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign launch at Cape Coast to spite the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo.
The ruling party as damage control claimed Mr. Vanderpuye’s comment which has been condemned in no uncertain terms was a figure of speech.
But, Taller believes the NDC is rather digging its own grave into opposition. “Nii Lante has proven beyond reasonable doubt that short people are not part of the human race so they don’t need our votes,” he stressed.
Yaw Baah said given his pedigree in society, he and Nii Lante even as Sport Minister are worlds apart.
Taller said he is in dire need of a lawyer to handle his suit against the Sport Minister because “I won’t let Nii Lante go scot-free.
