Ghanaian Rapper Kwame Ametepee Tsikata affectionately called ‘M.anifest’ has described as ‘rubbish talk’ for a section of the public to believe that he releases songs basically for only the elite in society.
The award-winning musician said he is only committed to churning out quality songs that will surpasses time and go beyond the borders of the country.
M.anifest who released his latest Album titled ‘No Where Cool’ on Thursday has been tagged as a musician who targets only the elite.
But debunking public claims on Ultimate FM’s E-Review hosted by Naa Klordey Odonkor, he explained that everybody likes quality and not only a certain group of people.
The ‘god MC’ crooner indicated that that he has no penchant of releasing songs for the elite, and that he is focused on churning out songs that cut across all classes of society.
‘They say I do songs for the elite, I see in which world, I think it’s rather rubbish way of thinking, I mean not to be harsh but I mean, the truth of it, is how can we say that only one group of people like quality, everybody likes quality, what I try to do is bring the best of excellence and quality, and to think that only a few people like that is untrue, if it’s was then a lot of people will not pay any attention, which is not the case.
I mean the case is that I am very stubborn and have been very stubborn with trying to stick to the idea of committing to quality, and that does not make it a elite, that means that quality is what will last over a longer period of time.
And also will have a wider scope of audience, rather just in Accra, or Kumasi or in Ghana or Africa, and so I think it’s rather rubbish to call it elite songs, just because am committed to quality who does not like quality in this world, if you get a chance to eat quality food would you go to McDonalds, just because McDonalds is everywhere doesn’t make it the best restaurant,‘ he explained.
M.anifest’s fans defied heavy downpour to attend the launch of his album on Thursday in Accra.
High profile personalities at the album launch included Renowned writer Prof. Ama Ata Aidoo, UK High Commissioner John Benjamin, Prof. J. H Nketiah among.
