Ghanaian Urban gospel musician, Cwesi Oteng has publicly endorsed and declared his support for presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
This comes days after the musician in an interview lambasted and described critics of musicians who openly endorsed or composed campaign songs for political parties or individuals in Ghana as “coup makers”.
“Such people are oppressors. They are people who cannot accommodate divergent views and have the propensity to oust governments and also trigger civil wars at the slightest provocation” he noted.
The musician in a tweet stated; “I would like to show my support for @NAkufoAddo and to fully endorse him to be our next POGH. I believe Ghana needs a breath of fresh air.— realCwesiOteng (@CwesiOteng) September 10, 2016 “.
The endorsement was warmly welcomed by the presidential aspirant who believed they could together bring change and hope to Ghanaians.
@CwesiOteng, Thank you for the support and endorsement. Together, we can bring change and hope to Ghanaians. #ChangeIsComing— Nana Akufo-Addo (@NAkufoAddo) September 10, 2016
Asked how much he took to openly declare his support for Nana Addo, the musician replied stating he did that out of “mutual respect for a man with clear leadership instincts. Not about pennies”

Unlike other A Plus and Lucky Mensah who have already recorded songs for the presidential candidate, Cwesi Oteng would not release any song but says the party can go ahead and use of his songs.
